Do you enjoy solving maths problems - good, knotty puzzles that make you think? And as well as enjoying the theory, can you knock up a quick monte carlo to build simulations and models to validate your ideas?

We build games! Sometimes they are easy little scratchcards with paytables so simple any idiot (i.e. us) can create them in excel. Sometimes they are enormously complicated economies which need creative thinking and modelling in order to get to formulae that make sense of our ideas .... and much of the time they are well-known formats like slots engines but with a funky twist. We've worked with a few game specialists and mathematicians over the years and we're finally ready to have someone join the team full-time. We're genuinely excited to find the perfect mathematician for us ;-)

What are we looking for?

We want a mathematician who:

  • has a really thorough understanding of probability and statistics
  • is able to build a game model and then play about with it, partnering with the game producer to get the right balance for players.
  • has experience building Monte Carlos simulations - we don't mind which tool you prefer, but some understanding of code and how the technical team will turn the simulation into logic will be needed
  • how games work in the i-gaming sector can be easily learned so don't worry if you've never had any direct experience in gaming, but it will help to enjoy games or game theory

Most of all, we want someone who thinks creatively and is prepared to get involved in thinking up features, revising how we implement the theory (sometimes at the last minute!), revisiting assumptions.  In order to improve our security, we would love someone who is constantly wondering about how games might be exploited unexpectedly!

What kind of person will you be?

A creative mathematician with a good working knowledge of how to build monte carlo simulations. It would be great if you enjoyed real-money games, but even if you're not a player of slots, blackjack and lottery yourself, you'll pick up how they work easily. You'll enjoy collaborating with producers and engineers on everything from ideas to the necessary documentation needed for compliance. We believe that you'll probably have at least a degree in mathematics and two years + experience working in a mathematical field.
